Not unless she gets with the program! When she returns to Anchorage, she and her family must have a frank conversation- is she selfless enough to want to serve her country admirably at the highest level, or will she be content to continue serving with distinction as Governor of the largest state in the union.
Whatever her choice, she will be successful at it. She accomplished much in her first term as Governor of Alaska, but apparently it just wasn't enough for the American people to see someone achieve so much in so short a time- all while raising a family and giving birth to a special needs child.
My wife and I have discussed what we would do in her situation, and I must confess, I don't think we could have handled it, let alone run for office, or even more for the Vice Presidency. Sarah is an intelligent, driven woman who brings a lot to the table (though McCain staffers are now dragging her through the mud saying syncophantic things like she doesn't know Africa is a continent and not a country. Please.) with her common sense and Katie bar the doors approach to getting things done. She is loved by her constituents, and I think she wold be equally loved as a V.P. if she has the chance.
And, oh, by the way, she is beautiful.
The media and feminists took an instant dislike to this (Cosmopolitan?) woman because she seems to have it all: Beauty (inner and outward), intelligence, presence, a sense of humor, a successful wife, mother, governor and hunter. I guess I can understand their dislike of her- is there ANYTHING she can't do well?
This rage was so over the top when she was attacked repeated by the press and celebrities like the infantile Matt Damon for her lack of experience, or for her wardrobe.
Matt Damon was on a t.v. interview when he was quoted as saying "I think there's a really good chance Sarah Palin could become president, and I think that's a really scary thing... I think the pick was made for political purposes... Do the actuary tables and there's a one out of three chance, if not more, that McCain doesn't survive his first term and it'll be President Palin... It's like a really bad Disney movie. The hockey mom, you know, 'oh, I'm just a hockey mom'... and she's facing down President Putin... It's totally absurd... it's a really terrifying possibility... I need to know if she really think that dinosaurs were here 4,000 years ago. I want to know that, I really do. Because she's gonna have the nuclear codes."
Actuary tables? Does this Einstein KNOW what an actuary table is? This is the same rocket scientist who thought scripts from the likes of Stuck on You, Jersey Girl and Eurotrip looked like good ideas. An actuary table is nothing more than an average probability of someone dying based on their age. This AVERAGE, is based on the population of the people being surveyed. Have you looked at Americans lately? We are obese, hypertensive and stressed out. Does that sound like Senator McCain? I don't think so.
And as far as the wardrobe goes, WHO CARES? If the RNC decides to gift her a wardrobe of $150,000, that is a part of the campaign budget. Where was the outcry when "Slick Willie" landed at LAX, shutting down a major portion of it while he got a haircut on Air Force 1? How much did THAT cost? What about when the "Breck Girl" John Edwards was getting $800 haircuts? What could POSSIBLY cost $800 for ANYONE's haircut, let alone a man's?
The bottom line, unfortunately, Americans are either sexist, or, just want someone with some chutzpah to deliver the goods which comes only after extensive service in the logic free zone of the District of Columbia, a.k.a. the puzzle palace.
I for one, hope Sarah follows the path to the White House, and helps lead this country back from whatever the weenie liberals do in the next 2-4 years. If she chooses to not pursue a career in D.C. as a Congresswoman, I fear we have seen the last of a truly gifted woman. She will fade into obscurity like Geraldine Ferraro, and that would be a real tragedy.
